Jeanette Brakewell Training at Priory Court Farm

International event rider Jeanette Brakewell will be holding a JumpCross Training Day on 14th September

Jeanette is famous for her great partnership with the legendary event horse Over To You.

Together they accumulated four European Team Gold Medals, two Team Silver Olympic Medals and Individual Silver and Bronze at the World Equestrian Games.

New JumpCross season 2010

The new season of JumpCross at Priory Court Farm, Polegate, East Sussex has got off to a great start with the first training day of the year taking place on Sunday 2nd May.
Local riders Hannah Reed and Natalie Young attended the training braving the typical bank holiday weekend rain!! This was the first time Hannah had done JumpCross on her new horse Dora, and won the competition at the end of the training.

Another training day was held on Sunday 6th June. Many riders took part to enjoy the day, and had training on the course which included the steps, bank and ditch and the water complex, before taking part in a competition within the group at the end. We had 2 groups of 6 riders. Chris Pearson and his horse Friday are regulars to JumpCross and were this time joined by Chris’s wife Vicky and Splash who both had a great time and did really well in the competition round.

Many horse and riders turned up to the open course day and competition at Priory Court Farm on 21st June. This gave riders the opportunity to try the course if they had never been before or practice for regular JumpCross riders. They had the chance to have a go at the ditch, water and Joker fence at the end of the course.

Local rider Billie Wood on He’s a Geeza, a regular at JumpCross this year won the competition with an excellent time and a clear round including opting for the joker fence which they cleared successfully.

Training Day 10th May 2009

The JumpCross season started well at Priory Court Farm on Sunday 10th May. It was a lovely sunny day and many horses and riders came along to enjoy the day.

In the morning we had the Intro classes, and in the afternoon we had a 2’9” group where the riders had training on the course which included the steps, bank and ditch and the water complex, before completing a section of the course at the end of the lesson as practice for competitions. The day proved challenging but great fun for our riders as they learnt how to develop cross-country riding skills over a variety of jumps.

Priory Court Farm in Polegate held two fantastic training/competition days on 22nd June and 6th July.

Local riders Poppy Benham and Kate French, regulars to JumpCross training days both had good rounds on their horses, and many new riders to JumpCross thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Open Day Details

The JumpCross site at Priory Court Farm in Polegate will be holding an open day on Sunday 8th June that will give horse and riders the chance to go around the course at various heights and also give anyone wanting to know more about JumpCross the chance to come and have a look!

JumpCross caters for everyone including young or nervous horse and rider up to regular competitors. The course at Priory Court Farm gives horse and rider the chance to have a go at a variety of jumps including ditches, styles, up and down banks and combinations, as well as the water jump and steps, providing a fun and challenging day for everyone.

The heights for the day are:

10am- 12pm 2’3”

12pm – 1pm 2’6”

1pm – 2pm 2’9”

All classes £10.00 (or £8.00 if JumpCross Member)

Rosettes will be awarded to all who finish. Riders must have completed a training session at any of the official JumpCross sites previously to enter. Priory Court Farm are holding training days on Sunday 4th May and Sunday 11th May beforehand.

Start of new JumpCross Season

A new season of JumpCross is starting at Priory Court Farm following a success last year. The site is ever expanding and introduced new steps at the end of last year to the course.

Priory Court farm will be holding regular training days throughout the year as well as team jumping and competitions. They would also like to welcome new Jumpcross instructor Katie Pierse this season.
